Elaine Falzon: A Journey of Dance, Determination, and Dreams
The Early Years: Finding a Passion for Dance
Elaine's love for dance ignited at the age of four. Starting with Disco/Modern, her talents were quickly noticed by her first dance teacher, who saw her potential as not just a student but as an instructor. By age 11, Elaine was already exploring multiple genres such as Latin, Ballroom, and Jazz. At just 13 years old, she was invited to join the largest dance company on the island, marking the beginning of a promising career.
At 17, Elaine took a pivotal step in her journey by attending an Easter Dance Camp at the prestigious Bodywork studios in Cambridge. Her dedication and talent led her to audition and secure a spot in their Performing Arts Diploma program. After three intense years of training, Elaine moved to London, where she braved the competitive dance industry, securing jobs, but never quite receiving her "lucky break."

The Challenges and Triumphs
Despite her relentless efforts, Elaine faced the harsh realities of the dance world. With no family in the UK to support her, Elaine balanced her passion for dance with part-time retail jobs to make ends meet. The high cost of living in London eventually pushed Elaine to return home, where she found joy in teaching and sharing her passion with others. But even after returning, she never let go of her dream.
Elaine's biggest motivator has always been dance itself. "Dance is so versatile; you have to keep training your mind and body to stay at the top of your game," she says. And while dance drives her professionally, her biggest personal motivation is her two-year-old son, Leo James. "I want to give him the best childhood and be strong enough to watch him grow into the best version of himself," she adds.

Balancing Life and Career
Elaine credits much of her success to the unyielding support of her mother, who has been a constant presence in her life. "Without my mum, I wouldn’t be where I am today," Elaine reflects. The dance industry is notoriously demanding, but with her mother by her side, Elaine has found the balance between her professional aspirations and personal responsibilities.
Looking Forward: 2024 and Beyond
As Elaine prepares to embark on her training at MDC Studios in Los Angeles, she is acutely aware of the passage of time. "I am 35 now, and I cannot escape it," she admits. "Rather than looking for long-term goals, I’m focusing on what my mind and body can handle now, in the present moment." This pragmatic outlook has allowed Elaine to continue her pursuit of dance without the pressure of time-bound achievements.
While she may not be focused on long-term goals, Elaine's vision for the future is clear: to continue evolving, improving, and sharing her love for dance with the world. Her passion, combined with her humility and drive, ensures that Elaine Falzon will continue to be a force in the industry for years to come.
