From Psychotherapy to the Runway: Charline Thouvenin Embraces a New Journey
A Flourishing Career in Psychotherapy
At just 26, Charline built a successful psychotherapy practice in Marseille, South of France, helping individuals cope with trauma using a cutting-edge therapeutic approach. Her practice grew rapidly, and she was soon fully booked for months in advance. "I started with nothing and built my practice one patient at a time," she reflects. Despite her professional success, Charline realized that the career she'd invested years into wasn’t aligned with her true self. "I never dreamed of becoming a psychotherapist," she admits. "My patients were wonderful, but I felt like I was chasing a goal that wasn't mine."
The COVID-19 pandemic was a turning point for Charline. In the midst of this global crisis, she decided to walk away from psychotherapy without knowing what would come next. "I needed to find myself again—my good vibes, my humor, my social life," she says. It was a bold move, driven by her desire to reconnect with her authentic self.
A New Chapter: Entering the World of Modeling
The shift to modeling wasn't planned, but it felt like a natural progression. "People would say to me, 'Charline, why don’t you become a model?'" she recalls. Encouraged by these suggestions, Charline enrolled in a modeling school in Paris. "I had no idea what I was doing," she laughs. "But I felt better than ever." At the school, other students assumed she was already a model, a testament to her natural presence in front of the camera.
Her transition into modeling wasn’t without challenges. "Some people thought I was too old, too quiet, or just not right for this industry," Charline explains. Yet, she found strength in her training and remained determined to prove them wrong. "I’m proud to be pursuing the person I want to be, not the one society or my family expects me to be."

Motivated by Authenticity
For Charline, the most significant motivation is staying true to herself. "Two years ago, I realized we only have one life, and I want to live it as me," she says. Inspired by personal development wisdom shared with her sister, Charline learned to focus less on perfection and more on happiness and fulfillment. "Never give up, trust yourself, and remember: we only have one life," she emphasizes.
Embracing a New Career Path
As she embarks on her modeling journey, Charline remains open to new opportunities, new mindsets, and new ways of working. "I’ve had conversations with top models who are nervous about how the industry is changing," she says, "but life is constantly evolving, and so must we."
Looking ahead, Charline hopes to collaborate with top brands, particularly in luxury fashion, travel, and lifestyle. "I’m completely crazy about travel," she says. "I feel like a girl of the world, not just French, even though it’s my nationality."
